Rockpoint Announces Evolution of Leadership Team

Longtime Managing Members Will Continue to Drive Growth of the Firm

BOSTON, January 7, 2026 – Rockpoint, a Boston-based real estate private equity firm, today announced a planned succession that reflects the evolution of the 31-year-old firm and positions it for continued growth. Tom Gilbane and Aric Shalev, both currently serving as Managing Members and Co-Presidents, will assume the roles of Co-CEOs. Mr. Gilbane and Mr. Shalev have both been with Rockpoint since its inception and have been Managing Members of the firm since 2011. Both previously worked at Westbrook Real Estate Partners (“WREP”), Rockpoint’s predecessor firm, and both have assumed expanded leadership roles throughout their tenures, including being appointed Co-Presidents in 2024.

Keith Gelb, a current Managing Member and Co-CEO of Rockpoint, will serve as a Managing Member and Executive Chairman of the firm, continuing to work closely with the other Managing Members. Mr. Gelb joined WREP in 1994, the year in which it was founded, and subsequently co-founded Rockpoint in 2003.

Bill Walton, who co-founded Rockpoint and WREP, will transition from his current Co-CEO role, stepping away from day-to-day operations, while continuing to be an advisor to and long-term investor in Rockpoint.

“A critical founding principle of Rockpoint was to build an enduring business,” said Mr. Gelb. “I am extremely pleased that we as a team have accomplished that – all while delivering strong risk-adjusted returns for our investors. Tom and Aric have each devoted more than 25 years to growing this firm. I look forward to working closely with them in their new roles as we continue to position Rockpoint for long-term success.”

“I am honored to assume this new role and to work alongside Keith, Aric, and the other Managing Members as Rockpoint embarks on its next chapter,” said Mr. Gilbane. “Rockpoint’s distinguished history, which traces back to the early days of the real estate private equity industry, stands as a testament to the firm’s enduring principles and commitment to excellence. It is a privilege to be part of the team.”

“In today’s environment, we believe that our tenured team with experience investing through multiple cycles, combined with our address-level approach, is more important than ever,” said Mr. Shalev. “I’m excited to take on this expanded role and to continue working closely with my partners as we identify and pursue compelling opportunities for our investors.”

Managing Members Dan Domb and Hank Midgley will continue in their current roles. Mr. Domb is a Managing Member and Chief Operating Officer and continues to oversee Rockpoint’s investment activities in the Greater New York and Florida markets. Mr. Midgley continues in his role as Managing Member and Head of Investor Relations, responsible for all capital raising and investor relations activities firmwide.
